Panels and planks that have been cut from discarded pine trees infested by blue stain fungus, each piece having a unique character and bluish grey color due to the fungus that infiltrates through the thickness of the tree’s trunk. A proprietary acrylic infusion process imparts the panels and planks with an extremely durable surface. The panels are formaldehyde free and qualify for LEED credits. Each log is methodically custom cut to maximize the wood’s natural beauty, character and color. It can be cut using standard carbon tip blades and routed using standard carbide router tips. The blue pine panels can be routed on a CNC machine. The panels are 48 x 96 in (1.2 x 2.4 m) in size and 5/8 in (16 mm) thickness; the planks are 5 in (127 mm) wide, 2, 4, 6 and 8 ft long (0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m) and 5/8 in (16 mm) thick. Since it is a natural material, each panel has a unique pattern and color, including shades of greys, blues and lighter colors, along with random knots. This material can contribute to LEED Credits EQ 4.4: Low Emitting Materials and MR 5: Regional Materials (if project within 500 miles of Woodburn, OR). Applications include tabletops, countertops, vanities, artwork, flooring, walls, partitions, ceiling, paneling and furniture.
